The birth doula package I offer for your birthing adventure

complimentary consultation - My services begin with an initial complimentary meeting where we discuss your vision for your birth and your expectations of your doula as well as my background, training and experience. Should we decide to work together, a signed contract and deposit will be collected. I work on a sliding scale, so the retainer fee changes from client to client. I suggest hiring a birth doula during the second trimester.
______________________________________________________________________________________________ prenatal visit - Our prenatal visit is a three hour opportunity during your third trimester where we meet at your home to discuss your dreams, desires and fears for your birth and strategies to achieve and overcome them. We review the role of your birth support team, set your birth intentions, and examine coping strategies. I suggest that all birth partners planning on attending the birth attend this meeting.

24/7 phone and email support - Once hired as your birth doula, I am always available to discuss your questions or concerns and offer referrals.

on call 37-42 weeks - I provide 24 hour on call labor support after 37 weeks during your pregnancy. As your guess date approaches, we will be in touch frequently by phone, texts and email.

continuous labor support - I will meet you within 2 hrs from the time you request my presence. Once by your side, I will use my knowledge and experience to provide you with physical comfort (massage, counterpressure, suggests for positions for labor and pushing), emotional (breathing, relaxation, and visualization techniques), and informational support. I will act as a liaison between you and the staff and assist you to ask questions so that you have the information you need to make the decisions that are right for you.

initial support postpartum - After the birth, I will stay with you to provide assistance with initial breastfeeding, take photos if desired and to make sure that your needs are being met in the first moments of your child's life!

the postnatal visit - I will come to your home during your baby's first week to ensure that your transition to parenthood or the expansion of your family is going smoothly. I help with breastfeeding, infant soothing techniques, newborn care, diapering solutions if desired, and referrals to available community resources if needed.

birth story - As part of my services I will provide your child with a detailed account of her or his birth as a gift from me to them, so when, in a few years, they ask the age old question of where did I come from, you can recount together the story of their birth!
